So, what happened tonight? Was Danyl Johnson overcome by nerves and feeling the pressure? Or was the song choice not quite right? Regardless, Simon Cowell was still backing Danyl to the hilt and gave him a standing ovation after his performance of Aerosmith's "I don't want to miss a thing".
The other judges however were less than impressed, and some focused on the tough week that Danyl has had, and his stinging critiscm in the press. Danyl himself seemed less than his usual confident self, and something just wasn't quite right tonight.
Originally predicted to sing George Michael's "Careless Whisper", perhaps there was a late change in song choice which affected his singing, but in saying that, he still finished on a typical high, and most of the audience appreciated his performances.
Maybe the tide might have turned now however? The fact that Danyl appeared sad and affected by recent media reports may have shown us his emotional side, and this being something that has been picked up on might have in actual fact done Danyl some good.
What we should really be looking for is how he bounces back next, that is of course assuming that he stays in tomorrow. Two less than great performances in a row would be not be expected of an X Factor winner, so if Danyl Johnson is to prove to us that he has what it takes to win X Factor, he has to come back with a storming performance in the next live show.
Chin up Danyl, bring back the confidence we all know you have.

LMBOOOOO....that was so staged it was pathetic!...Even on a bad day someone with Danyl's level of talent could not be that off & Olly would have stole the show had he now been sooo Robbie Williams...I mean geeezzz...the hand motions & the 'come on" Very sad for Danyl what this had turned into
Danyl looked like a rabbit in the headlights of a car and that is so not him. He is a fantastic singer and performer. Back and face Danyl. He will have to develop the skin of a rhino if he gets anywhere near winning X Factor. As for the most hated - rubbish. Remember Rhidian (or however the Welsh bloke with the white hair spelt his name)? If I had a million pounds I'd vote a million times.
Well i'm truely disappointed this week with Danyl song choice, performance and lack of smiles and confidence. In fact I sat there cringing at the telly as I didn't know what to think whether it was all put on or whether it was actually genuine I honestly didn't know and instead of feeling sorry for him I ended up the opposite thinking that it was just staged. Sorry Danyl.
I was expecting a cracking Bryan Adams song or even Living on a Prayer-Bon Jovi instead it was Aerosmith which is one of my favourite songs but being honest I wasn't the right song choice for Danyl at all, more suited to Jamie who also got a crappy song choice. What ever happened to ROCK week, the only act to rock it out where JEDWARD and to be honest yeah they can't sing but it was pretty ok and entertaining and they dressed the part for Rock week and did an ok job, the rest of the act's just did pop trying to come rock, I wasn't having any of it. Disappointed this week that's all I'm gonna say.
Danyl we know you can do it, come on bounce back and be yourself stop being sad, quiet and don't listen to any of the judges 'do this, do that and be like this or that', just be yourself and shine through, the audience and your fans will much prefer that and you'll win everyones hearts back definitely.
Go Danyl x
I felt sorry for Danyl last night. There is nothing he can do more to win over the public. It was clear from last night he was not himself and his performance was underpar by his such high standards.
