Danyl Johnson proved again he was back to his very best with two amazing performances in the X Factor semi-finals. Firstly singing Michael Jackson's classic "Man in the Mirror", before following up with one of Whitney Houston's all time greatest hits "I have Nothing", Danyl received praise from all four judges, and again Simon Cowell backed him to the hilt with a lavishly positive verdict for both songs.

Danyl, who according to the bookies was favourite to leave this week, showed the public what he's made of, and listening to the people's panel on the Xtra Factor after the show, his support is increasing, and just at the right time. The current odds show that it is now Olly who is looking most likely to go tonight, but we need all you Danyl fans out there to cast your vote to make sure he's in next weekends final.

The number to vote for Danyl is 0901 6161104, so please cast your vote now. He needs all our support at this important stage, so remember to pick up your phone and get voting. If you normally vote once, then vote twice, and if you normally vote twice, then vote a third time! :)

We'll be crossing our fingers tonight for Danyl to make it through to the final!

X Factor Finalists cover Michael Jacksons "You are not alone" for charity

• posted on Monday, 26 October 2009 18:05

The X Factor finalists are set to release a cover of Michael Jackson's You Are Not Alone in order to raise money for sick children.

All 12 remaining finalists in the ITV talent show have now recorded the charity single, which will be released shortly to raise money for London.s Great Ormond Street Hospital.

To hear the song for the first time, you'll have to tune into the results show on Sunday November 15th, with the song being available for sale the day after.

Michael Jackson scored a number one hit with the song in 1995, and last years X Factor charity single, a version of Mariah Carey's Hero, raised more than 1m for the Help for Heroes charity.

Speaking to the media, Simon Cowell said: "Following last year's record we made with the X Factor finalists in aid of Help For Heroes last year we decided we wanted to do something annually on the show to help good causes.

"This year we chose to work with Great Ormond Street to help raise funds and awareness for their incredible work. I'm very proud of the single and I really hope it raises an enormous amount of money for people who really need our help."

Louis Walsh added: "Great Ormond Street Hospital does some incredible work and I implore everyone to go out and buy the single to help raise money for such a worthy cause."

We certainly look forward to hearing the single for the first time. Could this be Danyl Johnson's first Number 1? :)

Danyl's top 5 pre-party tunes revealed!

• posted on Saturday, 17 October 2009 14:06
The official site of the X-Factor asked all the finalists what their top 5 pre-party tunes were, and this is what Danyl Johnson had to say.

When asked "What tunes REALLY get you in the mood for a jolly good night out?", Danyl revealed the following:

  • 1. My Love - Justin Timberlake
  • 2. Sex On Fire - Kings Of Leon
  • 3. Let Me Be Your Fantasy - Baby D
  • 4. Set Me Free - N Trance
  • 5. Beat It - Micheal Jackson
Some old school dance anthems in there, a Jacko classic, a modern rock smash and then good old Justin Timberlake at the top. Well I don't think anybody would have predicted those choices.
