Danyl sings 'Relight my Fire' and 'My Song' to a rapturous reply

• posted on Sunday, 29 November 2009 14:45

Danyl Johnson received another standing ovation from Simon Cowell on last nights X Factor after his performance of Elton John's "My Song", and completely won the judges around with both his songs.

The dance teacher wowed judges Louis Walsh and Cheryl Cole – who previously were two of his biggest  - with his rendition of Take That's 'Relight My Fire', and Simon again stood up to applaud Dany's efforts after his second song of the night.

The judges comments were as follows:

Louis: What I like about you is that you always bounce back. You picked Elton’s most iconic song, you made it your own. I loved everything about it, except the choir. You don’t need the choir – with your looks and your voice, you’ve got it all.

Dannii: A really great version of a great song. Much, much better than your first song.

Cheryl: I think that we’re finally seeing the Danyl that we first saw at the start of the audition process. You look more comfortable, you look more confident.

Simon: It wasn’t good, it was sensational. Louis, don’t be rude about kids on the stage, you’re like a dark cloud that blots out sunshine…

When asked by Dermot who the judges thought gave the best performances of the night, Simon answered "Danyl & Olly", again backing his singers to the hilt, whilst the other judges followed suit with their own acts (apart from Louis of course)

On tonights show, the voting will be down to the viewers only, so Danyl will need all your votes. If you thought he was previously safe, then we've only go to look at last weeks vote when Olly was in the bottom two, so make sure you pick up your phone and vote for Danyl. Let's do our best to push him through to the final 4! The number to ring to cast your vote for Danyl is 0901 6161101.

Danyl Johnson attracts big money bets and reveals his Tattoo

• posted on Thursday, 5 November 2009 17:29

X Factor finalist Danyl Johnson showed off his Superman tattoo on his right tricep this week, when spotted outside the X Factor house in North London. Previously kept under wraps, Danyl wasn't shy about showing it off and revealed his tattoo to the onlooking media frenzy by pointing to it.

Danyl admitted going under the needle several years ago, and writing on his official website, he said: 'I have a Superman tattoo on my right arm (big childhood fan).'

After a difficult week where he gave a below-par performance on Saturday, as well as being on the receiving end of a lot of negative press, it looks like Danyl is hoping the positive associations of his Superman tattoo will rub off on him.

Danyl was full of smiles and seemed to be back to his old self, following rehearsals for 'songs from the movies week'. Recent reports that Danyl topped the voting on last Saturdays live show may have given him the boost that he needs.

Rachel Adedeji, voted out last week, said Danyl is a popular member of the house, and told DigitalSpy.co.uk: 'Danyl is such a lovely man, really. He's just a normal bloke and he's not arrogant or anything like that, he's just Danyl.

'Either you like him or you don't, and I think he's great. He just enjoys what he does and he's a cool guy, everyone likes him in the house, he's lovely. People are getting him wrong now, but he's cool.'

In the latest X Factor betting news, it has been revealed that Danyl Johnson is now attracting big money bets, and Bookies are reportedly worried that a £5million gamble has been launched on the contestant to win the show.

The Daily Star said: "In terms of the numbers of bets, it's the twins. But the clever money - and the big money - is going on Danyl."

They added: "The professionals have placed some huge bets - five figures in places."

Paddy Power spokesman Darren Haines also said: "All our biggest bets have been on Danyl, many thousands of pounds in several cases.

These latest big money bets began after news leaked out about Danyl topping the votes in last weeks live show, despite his poor performance

The bookies source finished with: "Our fingers are crossed that Danyl trips up. Even if he makes the final it will be terrible news."

Terrible news for the bookies perhaps, but all of us here would be delighted if he won! Lets keep backing Danyl by voting in each week! Good luck for the weekend Danyl, we're all right behind you!

X Factor Betting Odds say Danyl Johnson is safe this Week

• posted on Friday, 30 October 2009 14:17

The latest odds are saying that Danyl Johnson’s X should be safe this week, so he will have another chance to prove he is the most popular act on X Factor.

According to the odds, the two most likely bottom acts are Rachel Adedeji and Lloyd Daniels

After last week’s shock decision, Danyl Johnson is now no longer favourite, and he is now the third favourite to win at 11/2 with SkyBet and Blue Square.

The current favourite is Joe McElderry, who is 7/2 with Stan James and Ladbrokes and Olly Murs is the second favourite at 4/1 with Bet365 and Paddy Power.

The most likely to go this week is Rachel Adedeji, who is the 2/1 favourite with Sportingbet to be the next act eliminated.

Rachel was not in the bottom two last week for the first time, and according to reports in todays Daily Star she received the most votes. if she survives again then it should be Lloyd Daniels to go, who is 7/2 with Boylesports.

Fans of the twins should be happy this week, as John and Edward look safe to stay in another week!

Danyl Johnson losing popularity? The Daily Star say 'X Factor Bully Boy'

• posted on Tuesday, 27 October 2009 12:12

Online bookmakers Ladbrokes has revealed that last week’s X Factor favourite Danyl Johnson will most probably spend the rest of competition fighting for survival.

For whichever reason, it appears that the public either just do not like him or they had previously believed that he will do well enough on his own that he doesn’t need their support, but either way, just £50 has been bet on the old favourite winning the X Factor since he was landed in the bottom two this week.

Recent negative media reports and an apparent heir of "arrogance" have gone against Danyl, and he now has a large problem in turning around his X Factor fortunes. In the last week alone, just £50 has been bet on the old favourite winning X Factor, where previously he was favourite.

However, he still does not look likely to get the boot this week being priced at 12/1, but it seems that if fans want him in they are going to have to start showing their support by voting in.

Rachel is looking most likely to go on Sunday, after she escaped singing for survival for the first time last week, but bookies think that she is unlikely to survive again, making her favourite to go priced at 2/1.

A spokesman from Ladbrokes explained, "Danyl’s plight came as a real shock. It’s knocked punters faith in him – We can’t give him away at the moment."

Despite the drop in popularity, Danyl is backed at joint second favourite and is priced at 4/1 to win the show with Joe McElderry as favourite priced at 7/2.

And reported in todays Daily Star, they claim Danyl has turned rival Stacey Solomon into a sobbing wreck.

He told her she has been branded a bad mum and that seedy stories about her sex life are doing the rounds. And he has been accused of targeting the vulnerable single mum as his own popularity sinks.

Insiders say Stacey, 20, is already “in bits” at being separated from her 18-month-old son Zach. And she has been stung by hurtful stories that she is a bad mum for leaving the tot at home.

A show source said: “Stacey was adamant when she moved into the X Factor house that she did not want to read or hear any stories about herself. “She got terribly upset when people had a go at her for being away from her son and saying she should be ‘a proper mum’.

“She didn’t expect all this horrible bullying. But Danyl has just ignored her wishes and he can’t help blabbing when he sees an article about her in the paper. It upsets her and can put her off her performance.”

Here at DanylAJohnson.com we can't say that we think there's much truth in these stories, but we have to appreciate the effect that all this negative press could have on him. We're still backing him though, and hope that you all are too. Keep voting!

Odds shortened on Danyl Johnson winning the X-Factor

• posted on Thursday, 15 October 2009 19:59
After Saturday nights fantastic perfomance from Danyl Johnson, the odds have now been shortened on Danyl winning this years X-Factor. Betfair no make him 7/2 to win, quite probably due to him winning some sympathy from the public after Danii's comments on Saturday night.

Performing a Jennifer Hudson track - "I'm telling you", (which you might have seen performed at bootcamp by a few other contestants, Danyl got a huge cheer from the audience but the response he received from Danii was not what he expected. Danii made a sly dig about his sexuality, though she later said nothing bad was meant - and that it was just an off-the-cuff remark. Danyl seemed quite upset by the comment though, and this may have been the turning point in his competition future as the public were firmly on his side.

Lucie Jones and Stacey Soloman are second and third favourites behind Danyl (9/2 and 5/1 respectively), with both putting in well received performances.

What will Danyl be singing this weekend? We expect he'll sing a strong traditionally male vocal, and don't be surprised if he's made an even stronger favourite to win the competition.
